What is Embedded System?

Embedded system :-

An embedded system is one that has computer hardware with software embedded in it as one of its component.
A combination of computer hardware and software and perhaps additional mechanical or other parts design to perform a dedicated function.

Significance :-
Due to their component size low cost and simple design aspect made embedded system very popular and encroached human lives and became indispensable. They are found everywhere from kitchen ware to space croft.

Application of embedded system :-
     I.            Communication system:- Cellar phone, cable TV, video game, fax and trans receive etc.
II.            Biomedical system :- ECG record, blood cell recorder, patient monitor system.
III.           Peripheral controller of computer :- Keyboard controller, DMA controller printer controller, LAN controller, disk controller.
IV.            Industrial Instrumentation:- DC motor controller, industrial moisture recorder, process controller.
  V.             Scientific :- Digital storage system, CRT display controller, spectrum analyzer.

Features of an embedded system:-
  • Embedded system have limited resource particularly memory.
  • Embedded system has to work against deadline specific job has to be completed in specific time.
  • Embedded system are constrained for power. Its many embedded system operate through battery, the power consumption has to be very low.s
